Cardboard Toy Cars - Completed I

Finally managed to complete painting some of the toy cars, using the real classic cars as reference. Nevertheless, did bear in mind that they are afterall toy cars, so reserved some "kitsch-ness". Besides I do not want to paint in such a way that the material used no longer look like its original stage, that is make it look like metal. The only disadvantage leaving the raw-ness of the cardboard visible will be that the cars look kinda unfinished, unpolished or even rough. But I think it's ok as I would not want to disguise the use of these cardboard, and do enjoy that roughness, unpolished feel of these cardboard.

Cardboard Toy Cars

After having successfully made the movable stationary holders, I decided to create my own movable cardboard toy cars. I have always love classic, antique cars, and enjoy looking at or playing with small toy cars... So, I thought, why not design and create my own toy cars using cardboards. Afterall, I have managed to make 2 cardboard cars for my dolls. So this time round, I just make them smaller...
They are all not too big, about 13cm by 9cm. Some were made with the possibility of using them as stationary holders. But eventually most are just plain toy cars, as I realised if they were to function as a holder as well, it will limit the designs I can create.
I love them just in these plain original cardboard colours... but I bet most will prefer them to be painted like a real car... so... will work on that...

Going For A Ride II

Here's the second car I've made... using cardboards. Both the wheels and steering wheel are movable. Hmm... if I made the first wheels turnable as well... would it be more interesting and realistic?
The cars are inspired by antique cars. Somehow antique cars always never fail to attract my attention though I'm not much of an automobile person... So I thought, it would be interesting if I can make my own version of antique cars... And instead of the usual single colour we see in cars, I thought it would be more interesting to make them full of colours...

Going For A Ride I

OH oh oh!!! Handmade, movable cardboard car for my dolls... Now they can enjoy a ride on their own, but first, they would need to get themselves some driving licences... Hehehe...

Recycle Me...

Pleasantly surprised by the support of the public in their willingness to purchase my handmade movable, cardboard stationary holders. Made a few more other designs, and hopefully more to come... Thank you...

More Movable Stationary Holders...

After trying out with making turtle and penguin, I moved out to try out other animals. So came, the cow, pig, and girraffe, oh and rabbit. Also tried making them of different width (wider), so that some of the holders can hold more stationary.

Somehow the rabbit looks un-interesting. And felt that I could do more for the holders, perhaps allow enable them to carry some short messages. So off I went, made some short messages that can be glued or hang on the holders... think the rabbit now looks better. And added a little red hat for Mr Penguin. Believe he's alot more handsome now. Hehehe...
